Applications

1. Rotary Application

a) Various shafts can be designed with modular holding by multiple pieces

And joined together with very high rigidity & accuracy, may not be possible many times to be maintained as a single shaft. CNC Machine Holding for Cutting Tools: CNC machines are designed for high speed and feed applications. Holding system plays a keys role in designing and performance of cutting tools. The basic spindle holders in CNC machines; the tools have to be held rigidly and accurately concentric to the rotary axis for drilling, milling, reaming, boring etc. New modular holding system is designed to hold the cutting tools rigidly after adjusting lateral and angular alignments within 0 to 5 microns of high accuracy.

b) SPM Machines: Holding becomes very critical since most of the SPM

Machines basic holding will have errors. This is due to side lock or other conventional holding or threaded connections. New modular holding system is designed with unique feature of direct torque transmission, Face Butting system, keyless System and holding within the diameter. These features will improve the rigidity and save considerable cost.

2. Static Systems

a) Structural Designs

Heavy long structural designs can be designed to hold the joints rigid on assembly and can be easily due to modular in nature. Transportation and material handling cost can be reduced considerably.

b) Automobiles and Aerospace, Shipping

machine building where long and heavy sections are required can be designed with new modular system to achieve the improved rigidity and strength.

c) Electrical applications

Modular joints in many electrical power cable joints, high voltage connections can be designed by new modular holding system due to the advantage of large contact surface, compact in nature, easy to assemble and dismantle as connected parts need not be rotated, slided and locked in position by rigid locking method. This results in reduction in loss of power transmission.

3. Joining Dissimilar material

Today dissimilar materials are held together for various applications as per the designed strength of material required. One of the simple methods used today is by bolting and riveting. Joints are also designed to be held together by flange type or screwed type in assembly and are often machined after assembly to achieve the required accuracy.
